got marrow?

This was written on front of a tshirt at the Wesson flea market Saturday. Of course it caught my eye. Tim and I are both registered on the National Bone Marrow registry. I ventured in the booth and found out the story of Joshua Ragsdale. He is a young man, originally from Natchez, who has leukemia and will have to have a bone marrow transplant in the next 3 months or so. Currently he has no match! His friends had this booth to help raise money for his bills, raise awareness for marrow donation, and mostly to solicit prayers for Josh's situation.
I bought a tshirt and shared that Chance was a leukemia survivor who thankfully did not have to have a marrow transplant. The girl I talked to expressed how serious his condition was and there is no donor match.
It is a simple process to be on the registry. www.marrow.org If you are a match the actual donation is a little more than donating blood, but certainly worth it if you are saving a life. Or so I think.
Please read his story at www.caringbridge.org and put in joshuaragsdale.
But most importantly please pray for him.

Football is back

I have been a terrible blogger. I have not reported on graduation, summer, baseball, school starting and a lot of other stuff. But I will try to do better.

Here is my Chance, 6th grade pee wee football playing, plays center ( I would not want to be on the line opposite him!) I LOVE watching the pee wee games. They mean business and I love being able to get closer in those games for pictures. I will be sure to share some.

Please pray for Kayla's family and friends

Kayla Dawson passed away early Sunday morning, April 26. Some things we just don't understand. I don't understand such tragedy or what her family is going through. The ASC senior class does not understand and will miss her terribly during the next few weeks through graduation activities. They are like a little family of 27 kids and now one of their sisters is gone.
Please pray for her parents, grandparents, sister, aunts, cousins and other family and friends as they say goodbye to Kayla.

Happy Birthday Chance

It is hard to believe Chance is 11 years old today. He has been through a lot in his years, but I would not trade a minute. His birthday also marks 7 years since he was diagnosed. He is proof that prayer works. I thank God for my boy along with all the good times and trials we have been through.

My boy's got talent

Chance participated in the 3rd annual ASC Elementary Talent Show a couple of weeks ago. He did a great job, as usual, as you would expect a mom to say. He did a routine with his Chinese Yo-Yo. The first year he performed his karate falls, the second year he did a routine with his yo-stick, this year the chinese yo-yo.... what to do next year??? He always get a good review by the crowd. I am just proud that he wants to do:)

Bunnies, bunnies everywhere

and this one was an adventure in itself.... she did not want her picture made, the middle cousin was a ham!!, and brother on the left was just there having a good time with the Easter egg!

I have done these Easter bunny pictures for years as a Relay for Life fundraiser. Each year I say it is the last ..... but then I show up next year. Some things are worth the work!! Chance is my partner as he helps me keep all the live bunnies accounted for.
You can see all the bunny shots at www.seemyprints .com and put in Easter Relay

my boy, the football player

Chance played Pee Wee football again this year. This was his 3rd year to play and he loves it. He usually plays center. This is the 5th grade bunch.

The coach says Pee Wee football is where state championships begin..... I agree.
