Please pray for Marc

Marc Ely is a buddy we met when Chance was first diagnosed 6 years ago. Marc also had leukemia and was diagnosed a few months before Chance. We saw Marc and his mom Debbie often when we went for appointments, treatments, or were in the hospital. Chance & Marc went to Camp Rainbow the first time together and have every year since until this summer.

Marc has a site on Caring Bridge that I found and was able to find out why he missed camp. Marc has relapsed again and will be having a bone marrow transplant on Thursday. His sister is a match and will be donating for him.

Marc has been fighting this for 6 years! He is one sick little boy right now. Please pray for Maggie as this will be painful for her as a donor. Even Chance realized that when I told him what she would be doing for Marc. Please pray for Marc, that his body will accept this donor marrow and produce lots of healthy cells for him. And of course for their mom, dad, and other family who support them day to day.

You can read more about Marc on his CaringBridge site http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/marcely

The first picture was their first year at camp.
The second picture was in 2005. Chance went to camp with a black eye!

It is broken!

Cheer practice was at 10:30. I got a call at 11:00 that Haleigh had hurt her hand doing a back handspring. So I head toward Liberty to check it out. I could tell she was in pain just talking to her on the phone. We met cousin and sports medicine guy, Ray, at Jan's and he explained in detail what it could be and suggested we get it xrayed. At 3:30 we are at the dr's office getting an xray and then the news that her third metacarpal is broken. We saw the xray..... no crack there, but broken in two pieces on the top of her hand. The good news is no surgery (thank God!) It should heal in 6 weeks. Dr said after the pain subsides in a week or two, she can do limited cheerleading. Obviously no flipping or picking people up, but motions won't hurt it and you don't need your hand to yell!

Haleigh has taken gymnastics and then right into cheering since she was 4 years old. This is the first broken bone she has had.... so that is pretty good. But what timing! 2 weeks before her senior year starts. Senior pictures still to be done. Meet the Rebels (big pep rally at first of school) is coming up and cheerleaders are very involved in that. But it will be ok. Please pray that her the bone heals nicely and there are no set backs.

the cutest Cinderella

Check out these Cinderella shots. Carsyn is so cute and such a ham, when she wants to. The biggest challenge was hauling that big ole 100 lb pumpkin around. Not an easy task, but that is just one more strange thing I will do for a picture!

Sunflower kids

Here are my favorite shots of Haleigh and Chance in a friend's sunflower field. Our sunflowers did not make it, but I guess the deer enjoyed them! We will try again next year.
